People don't usually like to look old and have wrinkles, which is why some people decide to take advantage of the many minimally invasive treatments now available to temporarily limit the appearance of wrinkles. The use of eyebrow botox is relatively safe, but there can be some side effects.

Quick Procedure

This type of treatment is usually very quick, lasting about 5 to 10 minutes and not requiring any real downtime afterward. This means you don't have to take a lot of time off of work to get the injections. In fact, it could be done over the typical lunch hour.

Temporary Solution

People who have moderate to severe crow's feet or frown lines can benefit from eyebrow botox injections, but the results are temporary and last about three to eight months. After this, another injection is necessary to maintain the look. This can be a good thing, though, as it allows people to try out the treatment without making a permanent commitment. The same is true of most injectable facial fillers.

High Satisfaction Rate

Approximately 74 percent of people surveyed who'd had Botox injections were happy with the results achieved and would recommend this type of treatment to others. The results won't show up right away, it takes at least a couple hours and may even take a couple days, so don't get discouraged if your wrinkles don't immediately disappear.

Potential Side Effects

Some people find that they experience a pinching sensation as the Botox is injected, but this can be limited with a topical numbing cream. Headaches are one of the most common side effects after Botox injections. Nausea and bruising are also relatively common. Although relatively rare, some people also experience a condition where the eyelids drop called ptosis, neck pain or upper respiratory tract infections. Some people may have a slight difficulty speaking clearly or making certain facial expressions as well. Side effects can be limited by choosing to get your botox and facial fillers injected by a licensed medical professional with a lot of experience in the use of these products.

Relatively Expensive

Although botox and facial fillers are less expensive than getting cosmetic surgery, they still aren't necessarily affordable for everyone. The average cost for Botox treatment is more than $450 and can go as high as $2,000 depending on where you're located. It isn't a good idea to get the cheapest shots available, as sometimes these use a lower quality product that isn't as effective.
